ACTIVITIES

TENNIS

We have two, full size professional tennis courts which can be booked during your stay (extra cost). Rackets and tennis balls freely available to those booking our courts. Both courts have umpire's chairs so the whole family can get involved!

CYCLING

Go on an outing, just wander around, stop, explore, set off again - do what you fancy at your own pace - this is the idea behind the Burgundy Cycle network with its 800 km of signposted routes for short or long distance cyclists. It is divided into 5 main routes combining "Voies vertes" and dedicated cycle tracks, often running on canal towpaths, along disused railway lines, even through vineyards. With a surprise at (almost) every kilometer: castle or château, chapel, inn, etc. We can event hire you bikes from our campsite.

GIANT CHESS

Fancy a challenge? Enjoy our giant our-door chess set. Think you're good at chess? Think again when you're confronted with 60cm high pieces and a whole new perspective. Challenge the kids to a great fun, friendly game of Giant Chess.

HIKING

Our beautiful campsite is at the foot of some of the most spectacular hiking routes in all of Burgundy. There are 100s of kilometers of marked paths and trails suitable for all levels of walkers and hikers. There's always interesting places to visit whilst out hiking. Our location does mean that you don't even have to take the car - you can start out on some amazing trails right from your caravan door...

CLIMBING

Our village is home to the famous Roches du Saussois - staggeringly beautiful rock formations that rise majestically from the river Yonne. You literally only have to walk 5 mins to the base of the rocks from the campsite. The climbs are suitable for all levels from 3c upto 8c - rated one of the most difficult technical climbs in France. We frequently have rock-climbing groups stay in our Gîte complex - so arrange a trip for your climbing club!

RIDING

There are several places to join horse-riding treks and some are locally in our village. You can choose from organised tours, individual treks or group trekking. There's not many better ways to experience the beauty of our countryside than by trekking through it by horse.

FISHING

The River Yonne & Canal du Nivernais offer endless opportunities for fishing. There are designated fishing areas and we have on-site information about where you can and cannot fish. This one of the best places in France for fishing holidays, few places in France offer such good carp fishing. Burgundy offers boundless fishing experiences, from fishing in lakes, ponds, rivers, reservoirs and in the canals. Carp and other fish are plentiful in the 12 400 km of rivers, 1 200 km of canals and more than 20 000 hectares (50 000 acres) of natural and artificial lakes in this region of France. All this in a protected but easily accessible environment. The River Yonne is a 1 minute walk out of the back of the campsite!

SAILING

Burgundy is one of the most famous and beautiful regions of France, with the Canal du Nivernais and Canal de Bourgogne offering some of the most attractive cruising to be found anywhere in the world. The Nivernais is often described as France’s most beautiful canal - a well-deserved reputation. When you add the ancient villages and the majestic waterfront of Auxerre with its Cathedral and abbey you can see why the Nivernais which is on our doorstep is our most favourite. Boats can be hired in the village for a morning, afternoon or whole day excursions.

OUR CAMPING

Nestled at the foot of the famous Roches du Saussois rocks and on the banks of the River Yonne, our beautiful campsite is the perfect base to explore all the Burgundy has to offer.
